A unique perspective and approach to healing
“I’ve been a physician for over 23 years. Gastroenterology has always been interesting to me because of the broad array of patients I get to work with… young and old… people who have a common, easily treated problem as well as those with chronic conditions, like irritable bowel syndrome, that affect their health and quality of life. I also love that this specialty is both consultative and procedural – meaning that I get to talk with you, investigate your health problems, prescribe treatments and also perform procedures to diagnose and solve your problems.
“I want to be someone that you can trust for honest answers and good recommendations about your treatment options and health. I believe that treating you with kindness is not only the right thing to do, it also helps improve our relationship and the level of care I provide.
“I am originally from Iceland. I think that gives me a different perspective from many other MDs. I feel appropriate alternative treatments can have their role in Western medicine. I am in favor of combining these approaches safely for my patients who are so inclined. If you are interested in a therapy that will ease your stress and possibly improve your symptoms, I am open to discussing it with you and incorporating it when it makes sense to do so.”
