Happy Holidays!
Before the year wraps up, we want to take a moment to thank you for being part of our community and to share a few gentle reminders to help you move through this season with comfort and care.
A Holiday Message From HGA🎄
As the year winds down and the holidays come into focus, we want to take a quiet moment to send warmth your way.
We know that the holidays aren’t one-size-fits-all. Some moments are bright and full, others are quiet and complicated. Wherever you land this year, we hope you find a little joy, a little comfort, and a gentle reminder to be as kind to yourself as you are to others.
And if your holidays look a little different this year, that’s completely okay. You are not alone and our hearts are with you during this time.
Thank you for being part of our community. Your trust and resilience mean so much to every member of our team.
Wishing you warmth, comfort, and calm — today and throughout the season.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from all of us here at Hunterdon Gastroenterology Associates! 💙

Holiday Recipe: Warm Cinnamon Stewed Apples with Crisp Topping
This dessert wraps you in warmth. It’s cozy, sweet, and comforting, while also being naturally easier on digestion.
And the best part? No one will know it’s gut-friendly! It tastes like classic apple crisp, minus all the heaviness.
Ingredients — Apple Filling:
4–5 apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji), peeled & sliced
1 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp water
Optional: pinch of nutmeg
Ingredients — Crisp Topping:
¾ cup rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
2 tbsp brown sugar or maple syrup
2 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
Pinch of salt
Optional: chopped pecans
Instructions:
- Stew the apples:
Add apples, water, cinnamon, vanilla, and sweetener to a pan.
Simmer 8–10 minutes until soft and fragrant. - Make the topping:
Mix oats, melted butter or coconut oil, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
Toast lightly in a skillet for 3–4 minutes until golden. - Assemble:
Spoon warm apples into bowls, top with the oat crisp, and serve. - Optional (but magical):
Add a scoop of lactose-free or oat milk vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. (Still gentle on the stomach!)
